| STARTING MY LOCKS | | | |
STARTING MY LOCS For my beginners, I offer expert hands on loctician service. I offer the coil twisting, palm rolling. Prices vary depending on how long or thick your hair already is and what I have to do to start or maintain them. You will need a 1"- 2" of hair if it is tight and kinky to start the process. You normally lose 50 to 100 hairs a day. Over a period of time this all adds up. I use this to my advantage to put you on the accelerated path to natural dreadlocks. As a style at first, I coil the hair using a rat tail comb, some natural but very powerful essential oils and my own technique. After some weeks as it starts to grow it will bud, swell and sprout and look a bit scraggly. This is a necessary stage & precursor to the beginning stages of your hair actually locking. To keep them attractive looking you will need to come in at first every 2-4 weeks depending on what you can afford financially and fashionably. We can successfully lock any hair type but the length of time it takes for the hair to actually lock depends on the texture, your lifestyle, and patience. | | | I Use products that are nutritionally sound to bring the hair back to its original strength. Jojoba, Olive Oil, B-Vitamins, Biotin, etc., are good ingredients to add to your hair regiment. If you are the impressionable type then regard non-supportive peers as your enemies. You will need to be prepared for the barrage of questions mainly because people are curious and comments about what you are trying to accomplish can sway your ambition. Month after month your hair will look different ways. It will swell and sprout and puff with perpetual continuity. | You should come in twice a month for loc maintenance. You should expect to have your locs shampooed, conditioned and hot oiled. You should expect to be given an arsenal of information about what you need to do in those in between time stages. Different textures and hair types lead often to varying results but it all adds up to something. Nothing happens until something happens. This means that if you are working out, making love or doing some labor intensive then rest assure that your hair will reflect back to you the end result. Crying to your loctician won’t help because he or she is a people person and recognizes that real people do real things. Be honest with yourself. Be prepared mentally and emotionally. And more importantly be accountable for your own misdeeds and dont's! If coming in every week because you want to account for every hair on your head by keeping it all in one place or neat all the time is your ambition then so be it. But remember, hairstyles are not meant to last and neither are they bionic. Weather is a big part to play in the longevity of the style. Humidity, dampness, etc. can cause hairstyles to revert and puff. Do what your loctician suggest and all is good. Deviate from what is given and you will be standing in the mirror of your own results. | | It all depends on the starting point. If you are starting from a perm and trying to go natural you will need to explore the nurturing aspects. Chemicals DO NOT grow out over night. In fact, it can take 6 months for your hair to revert back to its kinky state Skinny or fat. Whether your hair is long, or short black or brown, and red Bi-tones or tri -tones. I have products to help treat hair that is broken off or splitting as a result of perm damage. We have scalp treatments to ease the symptoms of your affliction such as the flaking and itching. | I AM THE MASTERLOCTICIAN AND I WELCOME YOU TO MY SALON! | |
